A Covenant defines a list of rules, which residents as well as business owners across any of Club Visiwa’s regions (sims) must fully agree to and obey. Therefore it is important you make sure you read an understand the rules before you buy or rent Club Visiwa property.

Whether or not you read this covenant, by purchasing / renting at Club Visiwa you are still bound by it and it will be applied to you, as everyone else.

It is important to understand that Linden Lab also have rules, most of which are documented in their Terms Of Service (TOS), Community Standards and other official documents. Those rules have to be strictly followed and adhered to as well throughout Club Visiwa estate. Our rules do not replace Linden Labs rules, but are additional rules applicable to our Estate.

Why have a Covenant?

While it is true that most Second Life™ users are good people with good intentions and respect for others around them, unfortunately this is not always the case and someone with different intentions, or even different views on life, can cause a lot of distress in others Second Life™ experience. This is specially bad when you have invested a lot of time and money in virtual property. It is for this reason that Club Visiwa estate has a strict covenant. That way everyone agrees to the same rules, and is clear on the boundaries, and they are applicable to all. Strict covenants are not suitable to all, and we understand that, and don’t expect all of SL users to be part of out estate. Rather we are happy that our rules so suit a certain sector of users. Note that the covenant does not describe everything in detail as we expect all users to be mature and have mutual respect for each other.

The Covenant…

This is version 0.91 of the Covenant.

First Rule

While this is the covenant for Club Visiwa, it is a work-in-progress and is likely to be changed over time as the estate and community evolves. Therefore in agreeing to this covenant you are agreeing that the rules will change and agree to abide by those changes.

The Rest

Our covenant is documented in parts, there is a General part applicable to all which contains the majority of the covenant, then there are separate parts more specific to certain users (eg. Residential, Business). Each part is documented on a seperate web page - click-through hyperlinks are listed below.

Note: All the parts together form one covenant and you will be bound to the full covenant, so you need to read all the parts listed (and linked) below.

It is only broken into parts to group and highlight what is most applicable to you - eg. residential users cannot sell items so all the rules re selling in the business part don’t really interest them too much, but it is entirely possible there is a rule/clause in the business rules which affects a residential user - and it will be applicable.
